Job Summary:

The Manager will oversee the financial accounting processes within the organization, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with regulatory requirements. This role involves managing a team of accountants, maintaining general ledger integrity, preparing financial statements, and supporting budgetary, costing, treasury and audit activities. The Manager will also collaborate with other departments to provide financial insights and recommendations to drive business performance.

Key Responsibilities:

Accounts, Finance, Taxation and Treasury Management:

• Oversee daily accounting operations, including invoicing, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, general ledger, and financial reporting.
• Managing working capital facilities, including cash credit, bank guarantees, letters of credit, and term loans, with a focus on forecasting cash flow.
• Ensure accurate and timely month-end and year-end close processes.
• Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Maintain the integrity of accounting systems, processes, and records.
• Inventory management and supervising the stores operations.
• Oversee compliance with Direct and Indirect Taxes, ensuring timely payment, filing of returns and liaising with tax authorities, including monthly, quarterly, and annual comp and payments.
• Oversee compliance with PF, ESI, and Govt. departments.

Team Leadership:

• Manage, mentor, and develop a team of accountants.
• Assign tasks and projects to the team, ensuring deadlines are met.
• Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide feedback.

Compliance & Audit:

• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, legal requirements, and internal policies.
• Coordinate with external auditors during annual audits and address any findings.
• Maintain and update accounting policies and procedures as needed.

Costing, Budgeting & Forecasting:

• Lead the annual budgeting process and provide financial forecasts.
• Analyze variances between actual and budgeted figures, offering explanations and recommendations.
• Develop and maintain standard costs for products, ensuring accuracy in cost allocation for materials, labor, and overhead.
• Conduct detailed cost analysis to identify variances, control production costs, and provide pricing support to ensure competitive and profitable products.

Process Improvement:

• Identify areas for process improvements within the accounting function.
• Implement best practices to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

Collaboration:

• Work closely with other departments to provide financial guidance and support.
• Participate in cross-functional projects and initiatives as required.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field with CPA or CMA certification.
• Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2-3 years in a supervisory role.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting standards (GAAP/IFRS), and tax regulations.
• Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Excel skills.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Strong leadership abilities with a track record of managing and developing teams.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments.
• Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in work.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in Manufacturing Industry or Energy Sector.
• Master’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Familiarity with ERP systems.

Working Conditions:

• Primarily office-based with occasional travel as needed.
• Ability to work extended hours during peak periods such as fiscal year-end.
