Position Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Application Support Engineer to join our high-performing team. In this role, you will collaborate closely with development, helpdesk, infrastructure, and security teams to ensure the seamless operation of our applications. Reporting directly to the Director of Application Development, you will be a key player in supporting our systems, participating in a rotational schedule, and being available for support calls when necessary. We are looking for a proactive and dedicated professional who thrives in a dynamic environment, contributing to the overall success of our application support efforts.

Job Description: Swiftly address and resolve technical issues reported by users by analyzing application logs and error messages, identifying root causes, and implementing preventative solutions. Offer comprehensive technical support to users and IT teams, ensuring seamless application usage. Aid in understanding the application's purpose, troubleshoot issues, and improve overall user experience. Utilize SQL expertise for efficient database querying, troubleshooting, and optimization. Perform data analysis to identify patterns, anomalies, or performance bottlenecks within the database. Leverage Python and PowerShell scripting skills to develop automated solutions, streamlining routine maintenance tasks, and enhancing overall operational efficiency. Create scripts for data processes, contributing to the automation of manual workflows. Contribute to the maintenance and optimization of Data Warehouses, ensuring data accuracy, reliability, and accessibility. Create and maintain detailed documentation for support processes, troubleshooting steps, and known issues. Keep knowledge base articles up to date, facilitating efficient problem-solving for the team and end-users. Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, providing clear and concise updates on issue resolution progress. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, fostering effective communication for successful problem resolution. Collaborate with development teams to escalate and resolve complex issues, ensuring a coordinated approach to problem-solving. Participate in cross-functional teams for system upgrades or migrations, contributing to the successful implementation of changes. Implement and monitor systems to proactively identify potential issues, taking preemptive actions to prevent disruptions. Participate in a rotation for around-the-clock support to ensure continuous coverage. Collaborate with team members to establish effective communication channels and handovers during shift changes. Attend change management meetings and be the point contact for all releases in all environments. Automate and support deployments to different environments.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or IT related field Strong in SQL for efficient querying, troubleshooting, and optimization of databases. Strong in Python and PowerShell scripting for developing automated solutions and streamlining workflows. Knowledge in constructing DAX measures and calculated columns in Power BI for business intelligence reporting. Knowledge in Power Automate for effective workflow implementation. Familiarity with Data Warehouses is a plus. Ability to perform under pressure and lead efforts during issues or outages of business-critical database servers, effectively communicating the impact and resolution actions as needed. 5+ years’ experience required with Microsoft SQL Server Enterprise and Standard Editions Experience working with SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) and PowerBI Excellent verbal and written communication skills Effective analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify creative solutions to complex problems. Ability to multi-task and work effectively across multiple deliverables. Demonstrated experience with change management and configuration policies. Ability to provide on call responsibilities for 24x7 production support. Available to work nights and/or weekends.
