House of Himalayas Ltd is hiring a visionary and dynamic CEO to lead company operations. CEO will be responsible for strategic planning, execution, brand development, leadership and team development, financial management, manpower planning, ensure high degree of work responsibilities etc.


Roles and responsibilities of the CEO

  • Work with the Company’s Board of Directors, for developing the long-term vision, strategic roadmap, and business plans for the Company.
  • Work with relevant departments of the Government of Uttarakhand, central government, industry leaders, value chain stakeholders, and academia to implement the strategic plan of the Company.
  • Act as the ‘face’ of the Company.
  • Oversee financial management, including annual budgets, revenue generation, capital expenditure, operating expenses, working capital management and compliance with corporate governance, audit and taxation requirements.
  • Oversee the manpower planning, recruitment, training and performance management of employees. Be responsible for the high motivation level, productivity and well-being of employees in a result-driven, ethical and friendly workplace.
  • Oversee effective allocation of work responsibilities, funding and assets;
    resolve interdepartmental and inter-personal coordination issues, where required.
  • Oversee and finalise product range, positioning, pricing, brand-building and distribution strategy in collaboration with department heads.
  • Closely oversee all operational aspects of the business, including procurement, supply chain management, sales, distribution, and marketing.
  • Lead the Company’s outreach to farmers, rural artisans, and supply chain participants in Uttarakhand to create long-term, mutually beneficial, and trusted relationships. Ensure adherence to high quality standards of products, services, and stakeholder management. Develop new customers, suppliers and distribution channels while strengthening existing ones. Develop strategic partnerships with leading retail chains, showrooms, and ecommerce platforms.
  • Ensure high degree of corporate governance. Provide prompt and accurate information to the Board of Directors regarding key operational, financial, employees, stakeholders, and risk-related issues;
    seek advice where required, and provide responses regarding the queries, suggestions, and directives of the Board.
  • Work in close coordination with the Managing Director of the Company for planning managing and implementation of the operations of the Company.


Required Skills:

  • Extensive experience in consumer facing brands including direct-to-consumer brands, food and beverage industry, Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) industry, etc. preferably with entrepreneurial experience of setting up or scaling brands / sub brands / businesses.
  • Experience of handling multitude of departments – marketing, sales, product development, etc. Preferred experience of sourcing and sales of food and beverage (F&B) raw materials and finished products.
  • Proven track record of leadership, strategic and stakeholder management.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong understanding of consumer behavior, market trends, and competitive landscape and having worked on building / scaling pan India consumer facing brand.
  • Financial acumen with proven experience in budgeting and financial management.
  • Demonstrated ability to build, lead and motivate high-performing teams and build a sustainable long term organisational culture.


Selection process :

  • Selection process shall comprise 2 rounds – pre-qualification and evaluation. Only applicants fulfilling the pre-qualification criteria shall be evaluated.
  • The qualified applicant achieving the highest score as per the defined evaluation criteria may be adjudged as the selected applicant and be appointed the CEO.
  • The initial term for the CEO will be 48 months which shall be further extendable based on performance of the CEO and of the Company.


Pre-qualification criteria:

  • Graduate or postgraduate from top 25 institutes in India as per the latest NIRF rankings in any of the following categories:
    universities, colleges, engineering, management, Economics, Psychology, agriculture and allied sectors, and law;
    and/or from top 150 foreign universities as per the latest QS World University Rankings.
  • Minimum 10 years of professional experience in consumer facing product categories including direct-to-consumer brands, food and beverage industry, Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) industry, etc.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a senior leadership capacity (CEO, Business Unit Head, Category Head, Brand Head, Department Head, etc.).
  • Must have managed a team of more than 30 sales and/ or marketing professionals.
  • Experience in entrepreneurship or any DPIT recognized startup in leadership positions will be an added advantage.

Additional Perks:

  • Performance related pay (PRP). The PRP is over and above of yearly salary and would be released to employee yearly, subject to achievement of defined target, performance.
