Chief Technology Officer

We are looking for a dynamic and experienced Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to lead our technology vision and drive our international teams toward innovation and excellence.

Role Overview:

As the CTO at GEMGEM, you will be responsible for overseeing the entire technology function of our company, working closely with our international teams based in Hong Kong, India, and beyond. You will play a pivotal role in shaping our technology strategy, ensuring the robustness, efficiency, and scalability of our platform. This is an on-site role based in our Surat office but involves regular collaboration with teams across different regions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the technology strategy, ensuring alignment with GEMGEM’s business objectives and growth plans.
• Oversee the design, development, and deployment of GEMGEM’s e-commerce platform, ensuring a high-quality, bug-free user experience.
• Manage and mentor our international development teams, fostering collaboration, innovation, and excellence.
• Collaborate with the product team to continuously improve and evolve the platform, introducing new features and ensuring a seamless user experience.
• Implement best practices in software development, security, and scalability, ensuring the platform can handle increasing demand.
• Lead the integration of new technologies, such as blockchain, AI, for enhancing the platform’s capabilities in jewellery authentication.
• Coordinate with other departments, including operations, marketing, and finance, to ensure technology supports overall business goals.
• Report directly to the CEO and provide regular updates on technology initiatives, progress, and challenges.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a CTO or in a similar senior technology leadership role, preferably in e-commerce or a related industry.
• Strong understanding of web and mobile application development, with expertise in languages such as PHP, JavaScript, Python, and more.
• Experience managing and scaling international technology teams, with a focus on delivering high-quality products.
• Familiarity with blockchain, smart contracts, and other emerging technologies is a plus.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically and execute effectively.
• Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and lead teams across different cultures and time zones.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
