Lead Cloud Engineer (SaaS Applications)

We are looking for an experienced and motivated Lead Cloud Engineer with a balance of technical depth, business acumen, and interpersonal skills responsible for the vision, strategy, and end-to-end development of SaaS applications. This critical individual technical role will work with engineering and product managers to drive the overall cloud architecture and technical roadmap.

Responsibilities:

• Technical Leadership:
  Lead the design, development, and deployment of scalable, flexible, and resilient cloud architectures for SaaS applications.
• Collaboration:
  Work closely with cloud teams, product managers, program/project managers, and business leaders to define technical strategy and roadmap, communicating the vision to key stakeholders.
• Requirements Analysis:
  Document and review business functional/nonfunctional requirements, proposing cloud solution architectures with detailed specifications.
• Architecture Accountability:
  Ensure architecture efficiency, stability, and scalability.
• Mentorship:
  Mentor, coach, and guide tech leads and engineers in the development journey (create sequence diagrams, API contracts, code reviews as needed).
• Development Standards:
  Define and drive the adoption of development frameworks, patterns, and standards.
• Proficiency Building:
  Build proficiency with a portfolio of cloud systems, technologies, services, and data standards to improve them.
• Technical Assessments:
  Conduct technical assessments, proofs of concepts development for cloud solutions.
• Process Standardization:
  Develop and standardize procedures for creating cloud solutions, guiding the evolution and improvement of that process.
• Best Practices:
  Create and share best practices, technical content, and new reference architectures for various use cases (e.G., Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Serverless and Container-based architectures, Analytics and Big Data, DevOps, or Security).

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Educational Background:
  A BS in Computer Science (or equivalent) with 8+ years in software/system development.
• System Architecture & Development:
  8+ years of proven experience in system architecture & development with demonstrated ability in developing use cases, architecture epics, data modeling, and service-oriented architecture.
• AWS Cloud Expertise:
  5+ years of professional experience architecting/operating solutions built on the AWS cloud platform (AWS Serverless, Kinesis, API Gateway, Database Services(DynamoDB, Aurora Serverless,RDS), AWS Lambda, Step functions, CloudWatch, CloudFront, VPC, etc.). API development Typescript & NodeJS, AWS CDK.
• Complex IT Applications:
  Experience working in large organizations, implementing, and managing complex distributed IT applications and large-scale cloud solutions.
• Security Standards:
  Solid experience in cloud-related security standard processes regarding authentication, authorization, data protection, and identity/access management. Familiarity with Tools like Imperva, Veracode, SonarQube Etc.
• Strategic Thinking:
  Ability to think strategically about business, product, and technical challenges in an enterprise environment.
• Agile Methodology:
  Experience with a formal software development methodology such as Agile is required. Knowledge of Domain Driven Design (DDD) and Test-Driven Development (TDD).
• Distributed Teams:
  Experience working with geographically distributed teams is required.
• Industry Experience:
  Experience in developing SaaS applications, particularly in industries such as Manufacturing or Industrials, with a focus on backend technologies.
• Software Development Tools:
  Awareness of software development tools and methodologies like VS Code.
• Presentation Skills:
  Presentation skills with high comfort speaking with executives, IT Management, and developers.
• Adaptability:
  Demonstrated ability to continuously adapt to new technologies and trends and learn new skills quickly.
• Communication Skills:
  Ability to communicate at all levels, orchestrate resources, and work effectively across internal and external stakeholders at multiple levels.
• Certification:
  AWS Solutions Architect certification is a plus.
