Position Overview:

The Dean of Psychology is responsible for providing strategic leadership and management for the psychology department. This role involves overseeing academic programs, faculty, research initiatives, and student services to ensure the highest standards of excellence and innovation. The Dean will collaborate with heads, faculty, staff, and external stakeholders to enhance the quality of education and research within the psychology school.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership and Management: Provide visionary leadership and strategic direction for the school Oversee the development and implementation of academic policies, programs, and initiatives. Foster a culture of excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement. Promote interdisciplinary collaboration within the humanities and with other divisions. Academic and Research Excellence: Ensure the delivery of high-quality academic programs that meet the needs of students and the community.

Faculty and Staff Development:

Recruit, retain, and develop a diverse and highly qualified faculty and staff. Conduct performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to faculty and staff. Encourage professional growth and development opportunities for all team members.

Student Success:

Advocate for and support student-centered initiatives that enhance learning, engagement, and retention. Ensure the availability of academic advising, mentoring, and support services for students. Promote experiential learning opportunities, such as internships, research projects, and community engagement.

Qualifications:

A doctoral degree in a relevant psychology and related discipline. A distinguished record of teaching, research, and service appropriate for a senior faculty appointment. Proven leadership and administrative experience in higher education. Strong commitment to academic excellence and student success. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
