Job Profile: Designer for Rotational Moulding, Blow Moulding, and Injection Moulding Product and Tool Design ---### Job Title : Product and Tool Designer (Specializing in Rotational Moulding, Blow Moulding, and Injection Moulding)---### Job Overview :The Product and Tool Designer will be responsible for the development, design, and optimization of products and tooling for manufacturing processes involving rotational moulding, blow moulding, and injection moulding. The ideal candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, manufacturing, and marketing, to create efficient, cost-effective, and high-quality products and tooling solutions. The role requires a deep understanding of plastic material behavior, mould design, and manufacturing techniques specific to each process.---### Key Responsibilities :1. Product Design : - Conceptualize, design, and develop products based on client specifications or internal requirements. - Create 3D models and detailed technical drawings using CAD software (e.G., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or Siemens NX). - Ensure designs are optimized for manufacturability, efficiency, and cost in each of the moulding processes.2. Tooling Design : - Design and develop moulds and tooling for rotational moulding, blow moulding, and injection moulding processes. - Collaborate with tooling manufacturers to ensure accurate tool fabrication. - Develop tooling specifications, material selections, and geometry in line with product requirements.3. Process Optimization : - Analyze and improve existing product and tooling designs for enhanced performance, durability, and reduced production cost. - Work closely with manufacturing teams to troubleshoot design-related issues during production. - Recommend design modifications based on moldability, cycle times, and material usage to enhance efficiency.4. Material Selection : - Assist in material selection based on product requirements, such as strength, durability, flexibility, and cost. - Work with suppliers to identify new materials or innovations in the field of polymers and composites that could be leveraged.5. Collaboration and Communication : - Collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, R&D, marketing) to ensure alignment of product designs with business objectives. - Communicate effectively with clients and stakeholders, providing regular updates on design progress and addressing technical concerns.6. Prototyping and Testing : - Develop prototypes for testing and validation of product designs. - Conduct or oversee testing and quality checks to ensure product designs meet all specifications and regulatory standards. - Implement design changes based on testing feedback and performance evaluation.---### Qualifications :- Education :

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, Plastics Engineering, or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus. - Experience : - 3-5 years of experience in product design, specifically for rotational moulding, blow moulding, and injection moulding processes. - Experience in tooling design, including knowledge of CNC machining and mould fabrication. - Technical Skills : - Proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Siemens NX, or CATIA. - Knowledge of mould flow analysis, finite element analysis (FEA), and other simulation tools. - Understanding of plastic materials, properties, and behavior during moulding processes. - Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, mold-making, and machine tool operations.- Soft Skills : - Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. - Strong attention to detail. - Good communication and interpersonal skills. - Ability to work in a team and independently, managing multiple projects simultaneously.---### Preferred Skills :- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.- Familiarity with 3D printing and rapid prototyping techniques.- Experience with ERP and PLM systems for project management.---### Career Path :This role offers progression to Senior Product Designer, Tooling Engineer, or Engineering Manager roles, with opportunities to specialize in advanced moulding technologies, materials science, or manufacturing process optimization.---### Work Environment :- Primarily office-based, with regular visits to production facilities.- Some travel may be required to meet with clients, suppliers, or manufacturing teams.
