POSITION: System Administrator II LOCATION: India - Remote MANDATORY JOB REQUIREMENTS Experience Required 1-4 years of Linux and Windows System Admin. The NOC is a 24x7x365 operation and requires team members to work shifts (Which include holidays). Flexible to work in all 3 shifts in a rotation basis Primary roles and responsibilities to monitor system platform OS and application monitoring. No regular travel required GENERAL SCOPE AND SUMMARY The NOC Systems Administrator is a hands-on technical role focused on the Administering, Monitoring and supporting Systems for our Cloud-based hosting environment. The NOC Systems Administrator takes ownership of support requests reported by our End Users, Client Support Team, Server\Cloud Monitoring, Reporting failures and other business teams to resolve, Escalate, or identify further action required to provide resolution. The ideal candidate will have experience with a wide range of Technologies, Monitoring tools, Operating Systems, Networking concepts and a desire to continuously improve upon that knowledge. PRIMARY ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES Provide support to a 24/7 NOC team to maintain a suite of Linux and Windows based Realtime operations equipment. Basic fixes include password resets, profile updates, provisioning support, ACC escalation, and monitoring. Operate, maintain, and manage Linux and Windows based systems supporting an operational environment. Overall day-to-day operations of the Linux and Windows environment. Monitor, manage and maintain all Linux and Windows based servers and Applications. Create and maintain environment specific standard operating processes and procedures Create, manage, and maintain accounts and group membership in Active Directory. Experience managing Linux and Windows based virtual server environments. Experience with SQL database queries and troubleshooting. Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all systems, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups. Define, prioritize, and resolve all support requests in an organized, efficient and expedited fashion. Administration and monitoring of corporate and managed services cloud-based systems. Development, maintenance, and usage of automation scripts using Bash, PowerShell, Python, etc. Assist with patch management in Linux and Windows environments. Create and maintain configuration documentation, as well as NOC and Operations documentation. Create, maintain, produce and update NOC knowledgebase documentation. QUALIFICATIONS SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS Experience Required 1-4 years of Linux and Windows System Admin. One year of experience identifying, troubleshooting and resolving technical problems using critical thinking and analytical skills, preferably in a service provider environment. Solid understanding of Linux/Windows administration and application resource monitoring. Solid understanding of network concepts and troubleshooting skills, DNS, IP and network hardware. Experience with Microsoft Infrastructure Active Directory domains, DNS, DHCP, Windows Security, Group Policies, etc. Knowledge of cloud platforms and virtualization software, Azure, AWS, Hyper-V and VMWare. Working knowledge and experience with Linux operating systems Basic working knowledge and experience with Microsoft operating systems – Servers and Workstations - (e.g., Windows 2008 R2, Windows 2012 R2, Windows 2016, Windows 7,Windows 10 and Windows 11). Working familiarity with Mac OS X. Basic working knowledge of Microsoft applications (e.g., Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.). Good written and verbal skills. Experience with writing trouble tickets and following standard operating procedures to work to completion. Basic familiarity with Enterprise Monitoring tools – i.e., Nagios, Datadog, JIRA, Sales Force. A highly motivated self-starter working in a dynamic environment across a wide range of skill sets. Ability to work in a team environment or as an individual when necessary. PERSONAL QUALITIES Positive collaborative attitude.
