About organization: Basic Health Care Services (BHS) is a not-for-profit organization that enables marginalized and vulnerable communities lead a healthy life with dignity. Through a network of AMRIT Clinics, BHS provides high quality and responsive primary healthcare in rural South Rajasthan, aiming to reach the last family in these communities. BHS is managed by an eclectic group of physicians, public health and development professionals, and nurses. For more information, visit: www.bhs.org.in BHS is setting up a Center of Primary Healthcare (CPHC) with a vision of a “Place that makes freely available knowledge, tools, training and technology to design, implement and evaluate primary healthcare services for the marginalized.” CPHC conducts relevant research and knowledge synthesis on issues related to primary healthcare and nutrition for the marginalized, including implementation research. The research is conducted within (intramural) as well as outside (extramural) the catchment areas of BHS services; alone or with partners such as ICMR, IIM Udaipur and Society for Applied Studies. Whom are we looking for? We are looking for a mid-career researcher, with a Masters in Population Science, Anthropology, Public Health or Social work. Strong, demonstrated skills in using quantitative and qualitative methods; and at-least 2-3 years of experience in conducting community based research on issues related to healthcare are essential. Other attributes that we value are working in interdisciplinary teams and ability to live and work in different settings. Roles and Responsibilities: Executive, research will be responsible for designing, implementing and evaluating intramural research studies, such as conducting verbal autopsies, understanding access of adolescents to healthcare, reproductive health behavior of migrant women etc They will also be responsible for coordinating with and supporting research teams of extramural projects in different aspects of the study, as required. Location : The position is located in Udaipur, with frequent travel and stay in field areas of South Rajasthan.
