Fashion Garment Maker with expertise in Garment Design, Technology and Construction

Job Description: This is a full-time position in our Mohali office. You will have your own pattern making & garment construction room within our head office in India. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, a passion for fashion, and a strong understanding of garment construction. This role requires self-discipline and adaptability to work and self-manage. You will have the chance to “be-your-own-boss” and have a daily one-on-one catch up with the Brand CEO who travels between our Mohali, Sydney, and London offices.

Key Responsibilities: Translating CAD Designs to Patterns: · Create detailed CAD designs and transform into patterns. · Develop and manipulate digital textile patterns and prints.

Fashion Design: · Research current fashion trends, fabrics, and techniques to inspire new designs. · Develop detailed sketches and technical drawings for garments using computer aided software.

Garment Technology

: · Ensure the technical feasibility of designs. · Develop a garment sample block library, ensuring they meet design specifications. · Conduct fit sessions and make necessary adjustments to garment patterns.

Fabric and Material Selection: · Source and select appropriate fabrics, trims, and embellishments. · Experiment with various Indian regional fabrics and artisanal surface ornamentation techniques. · Liaise with fabric and trims suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials for you to commence garment construction. The Brand CEO will work with you to negotiate bulk fabric and trim buys vs. small buys, and will provide forecasting of materials requirements. · Ensure quality control standards are met throughout the production process.

Trend Analysis and Market Research: · Stay updated with the latest fashion trends and market demands. · Analyze supplier products and market trends to inform purchasing decisions and negotiations.

Qualifications Required: · Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design, Textile Design, or a related field. · Diploma graduates with all mentioned skills can apply. · Proficiency in Textile CAD software (e.g., e.g., DigiBunai CATD, Adobe, NedGraphics, TexDesign, or similar). · Strong knowledge of garment construction and production processes. · Understanding to fit, fall, proportion and all sewing and garment construction is a must. · Draping skills required. · Must know 2-3 surface ornamentation, like hand embellishment embroideries, sequence, and any other hi-fashion fabrication. · Excellent sketching and illustration skills. · Create Flat sketch and clear instructions on tech pack. · Creative flair and a strong sense of style. · Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. · Strong communication and organizational skills. · Attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality standards. · Proven ability to work independently and manage time effectively. · High level of self-discipline and adaptability to remote working conditions.
