Job Title : Senior Environment Asset Artist Location : India Job Type : 3 months Contract About the Role : We are looking for an exceptionally talented Senior Environment Asset Artist with a deep mastery of environment modeling to join our creative team. This role demands a highly skilled artist who excels in crafting immersive 3D environments, paying meticulous attention to detail, form, and composition, while also having strong texturing abilities. You will be responsible for creating visually stunning, high-quality assets that set the standard for our project’s environmental aesthetics. Key Responsibilities : Environment Modeling (Core Focus) : Lead the creation of detailed, high-fidelity 3D models for various environmental elements such as landscapes, architecture, foliage, and set pieces. Your expertise in modeling will shape the visual identity of the project’s world. Sculpting and World Building : Utilize both traditional modeling techniques and digital sculpting tools (e.g., ZBrush, Blender, Maya) to create complex, organic, and hard-surface models with a strong sense of scale, structure, and realism. Texturing : Apply a thorough understanding of texturing workflows, UV mapping, and material creation to enhance the depth and realism of environment assets. Your textures will support the overall believability of the modeled environments. Optimization : Ensure that your environment models are optimized for performance without compromising visual fidelity, working within polygon budgets and adhering to memory constraints. Collaboration : Work closely with art directors, level designers, and technical artists to ensure your assets integrate seamlessly into the game or cinematic environment, following the project's artistic vision. Iterative Development : Respond to feedback and collaborate with cross-functional teams to refine models, ensuring they meet both artistic and technical standards. Pipeline Mastery : Maintain a strong understanding of industry-standard pipelines for asset creation and contribute to the improvement of workflows and processes to ensure efficiency in production. Qualifications : Expert-level skills in environment modeling with demonstrated ability to create high-quality, realistic, and visually compelling 3D assets. Proficiency in industry-standard software for 3D modeling (e.g., Maya, Blender, 3ds Max) and sculpting tools (e.g., ZBrush). knowledge of texturing and surfacing tools such as Substance Painter, Designer, and Photoshop is plus. Strong portfolio showcasing a variety of environment models (both organic and hard-surface) and demonstrating an eye for detail, composition, and architectural design. Deep understanding of UV mapping, baking, and PBR (Physically-Based Rendering) workflows. Experience optimizing assets for performance while maintaining visual quality. Familiarity with game engines (e.g., Unreal Engine, Unity) or VFX renderers. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to evolving production needs.
