Key Responsibilities: Data Analysis and Modeling:
Leverage your expertise in catastrophe modeling to analyze and interpret complex datasets. You will be working with unstructured and semi-structured SOVs to structure them in formats required for various internal pricing models used by insurance companies. Tool Utilization:
Utilize SOV Wizard, our proprietary tool, to automate and enhance the catastrophe modeling process. You will be expected to contribute to the improvement of the tool by providing feedback and suggestions based on your experience. Risk Assessment:
Play a crucial role in risk assessment processes by accurately determining the potential impact of catastrophic events on various insurance portfolios. Collaboration and Support:
Work closely with cross-functional teams, including underwriters and other insurance professionals, to ensure that the catastrophe modeling process aligns with business goals and client needs. Innovation and Development:
Participate in the ongoing development and innovation of our tools and processes. Your insights and expertise will be key in advancing our capabilities in the field of catastrophe modeling. Client Engagement:
Occasionally engage with clients to understand their needs and ensure our solutions are tailored to meet their specific requirements.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Actuarial Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field. Experience with AIR and RMS Catastrophe Models (at least 4 years with one or both models) Proven experience in catastrophe modeling, preferably in the insurance industry. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Familiarity with SOV data and the challenges associated with cleaning and structuring this data. Proficiency in Excel and experience with data analytics tools. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
