POSITION SUMMARY: The Business Development Manager- is responsible for specific sales and marketing activities for the Business Unit, as well as oversight and management distributors. This position will be primarily focused on achieving the sales revenue plan (budget) with secondary responsibility for lead generation and quoting activity as well as, helping establish the strategic direction for technologies and vertical market activities.

The position will support this mission utilizing our Trust, Bias for Action and Entrepreneurial Cultural Attributes.

Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: Manage group of distributors, working to generate leads for equipment, follow up on quotes sent through these distributors and make recommendations on addition and termination of distributors. Establish, nurture and maintain relationship with End Users ensuring a smooth transition for quoting to product delivery. In conjunction with Director of Sales and Sr. Marketing Manager, assess needs in core vertical markets, help determine future products to address shortfalls in offering and work with Product Development to develop and launch new products and technologies. Establish, nurture, and maintain selling relationships with key OEMs relevant to core product offering. Communicate directly with key stakeholders, on progress and information sharing for large projects. Work closely with the Customer Service team to ensure proper service and delivery for customers. Travel domestically and internationally, as needed, to drive opportunity and secure new business – up to 50% travel. Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales goals within assigned responsibility. Other responsibilities as assigned by Management.

Qualification: Results driven with a bias for action 4-year degree in engineering/technical field or equivalent relevant experience preferred 3-5 years minimum proven sales experience in end user sales and distribution model required Experience with CRM – Salesforce preferred Proven track record of “hunting” mentality to drive double digit growth in selected verticals Strong communication and writing skills Competent with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint Proven track record of successfully increasing territory sales volume Ability to prioritize, work independently, and solve problems, working comfortably under pressure.
