Key Responsibilities
Build platforms using an appropriate low-level design (LLD) and implement the solutions based on that design across Linux or other virtualized based platforms.
Provide input to low-level designs as part of project or task assigned, where potential improvements to a low-level design can be made.
As technical lead on specific project tasks, provide appropriate updates on progress to the appointed project manager, representing the SRE team in general updates and meetings where required.
Provide detailed handover documentation to support the operational SRE team.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
Strong experience in administering Linux operating systems, a very good understanding of associated open-source monitoring, management, deployment and reporting tools and good understanding of Windows operating systems
Previous ‘hands on’ experience in Operation and Build of Linux Networks / Platforms / Services and a good level of design experience, with a mindset of simplicity, automation, digitisation and security.
A high-level understanding of other virtualisation and cloud platforms (including VMware EXSi, Azure Stack Hub, Azure HCI etc).
Hold relevant technical qualifications for this vertical as appropriate.
A good level of understanding of service provider technologies.
Ability to interpret low-level design documents, with a working knowledge of impacts and integrations into other technology verticals.
A good knowledge of current technologies and awareness of future technologies to contribute to the identification of advances and improvements in Networking and Platforms, with associated security elements.
Good level of awareness, or the ability to learn and get a current understanding of process, procedure and governance and required, own and team, etc.
