Job Title: Operating Theatre (OT) Technician

Job Description : We are looking for a diligent and skilled Operating Theatre (OT) Technician to join our surgical team. As an OT Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and safe functioning of the operating room during surgical procedures. Your primary responsibilities will include preparing the operating room, sterilizing equipment, assisting surgeons and nurses, and maintaining a sterile environment throughout surgical procedures.

Responsibilities :

1. Prepare the operating room before surgical procedures, ensuring all necessary equipment and supplies are available and properly sterilized.

2. Assist surgical team members, including surgeons, nurses, and anesthesiologists, as needed during procedures.

3. Position and drape patients appropriately for surgery, ensuring their safety and comfort.

4. Hand instruments and supplies to surgeons and nurses during procedures, anticipating their needs.

5. Maintain a sterile environment in the operating room by adhering to strict infection control protocols and procedures.

6. Operate and maintain surgical equipment, including lights, monitors, and suction machines.

7. Clean and sterilize operating room equipment and instruments after each procedure, following established protocols.

8. Dispose of medical waste safely and in accordance with regulatory requirements.

9. Monitor and replenish surgical supplies and inventory as needed.

10. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure efficient and effective patient care.

Requirements :

1. High school diploma or equivalent.

2. Certification or diploma in surgical technology or a related field preferred.

3. Previous experience working in an operating room or healthcare setting preferred.

4. Knowledge of surgical instruments, equipment, and procedures.

5. Strong attention to detail and ability to follow strict protocols and procedures.

6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

7. Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.

8. Commitment to patient safety and confidentiality.

9. Physical stamina and dexterity to stand for long periods and assist with lifting and positioning patients.

10. Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
