Nalanda Vidyaniketan School Overview: The Parent Counselor at Nalanda Vidyaniketan School plays a crucial role in fostering strong relationships between parents and the school. This position involves providing guidance, support, and resources to parents to ensure the holistic development of students. The Parent Counselor will work closely with the Principal to address parent concerns, mediate conflicts, and contribute to a positive school environment. Key Responsibilities: Parent Support and Guidance: Act as the primary point of contact for parents seeking advice or assistance related to their child’s academic, social, and emotional well-being. Provide counseling services to parents on issues such as parenting strategies, communication with children, and managing academic stress. Mediation and Conflict Resolution: Facilitate communication between parents, teachers, and the school administration to resolve conflicts or misunderstandings. Mediate any disputes between parents and the school, ensuring a fair and transparent process. Workshops and Educational Programs: Organize and conduct workshops for parents on topics such as child development, effective parenting, and educational best practices. Collaborate with external experts and organizations to provide additional resources and training for parents. Parent-Teacher Collaboration: Work with teachers to identify students who may benefit from additional parental support and ensure parents are engaged in their child’s educational journey. Assist in organizing parent-teacher meetings and ensure productive communication between parents and educators. Feedback and Reporting: Collect and analyze feedback from parents to identify areas for improvement within the school’s parent engagement strategies. Regularly report to the Principal on parent concerns, trends, and the effectiveness of counseling interventions. Crisis Intervention: Provide immediate support to parents and families in crisis situations, including referrals to external support services when necessary. Work with the school’s counseling team to develop and implement intervention plans for students at risk. Administrative Duties: Maintain accurate records of counseling sessions, parent interactions, and interventions. Assist in developing policies and procedures related to parent engagement and counseling services. Qualifications and Skills: Educational Background:

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, or a related field. Experience:

Previous experience in counseling, particularly in a school setting, is preferred. Communication Skills:

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with diverse groups of parents and staff. Empathy and Compassion:

Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust and rapport with parents. Problem-Solving Abilities:

Skilled in conflict resolution and crisis management. Organizational Skills:

Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively. Working Conditions: The Parent Counselor will work during school hours, with occasional after-hours meetings or workshops as required.
