Job Overview:

The Consultant Pathologist will be responsible for overseeing and conducting diagnostic laboratory tests in areas such as hematology, biochemistry, microbiology, and histopathology. This role ensures that diagnostic services are of the highest quality, supporting patient care through accurate diagnosis and reporting.

  Hyderabad, Nizamabad, Karimnagar, Mahbubnagar, Nellore,Pune.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Diagnostic Reporting & Consultation :

• Perform and interpret diagnostic tests in histopathology, cytology, hematology, and clinical pathology.
• Review and sign-off on test results, ensuring the accuracy and reliability of laboratory reports.
• Provide clinical advice on the appropriate tests and guide clinicians on test results.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals for multidisciplinary patient care discussions.

2. Laboratory Operations Management:

• Supervise laboratory processes, ensuring adherence to quality control protocols and standards.
• Lead efforts to maintain accreditation standards (e.G., NABL, CAP).
• Oversee laboratory personnel and assist in training programs to ensure team competency.
• Monitor turnaround times for test results and work on improving efficiency.

3. Quality Assurance :

• Participate in and lead quality assurance programs within the department.
• Implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) and best practices.
• Ensure compliance with safety and infection control standards.

4. Patient Safety & Compliance :

• Ensure patient confidentiality and ethical handling of all diagnostic information.
• Stay updated on regulations and participate in audits and inspections as required.
• Maintain proper documentation as per industry guidelines and hospital protocols.

5. Research & Continuous Learning:

• Engage in research activities and clinical studies that contribute to advancements in pathology.
• Stay current with advancements in the field of pathology and laboratory medicine.
• Attend and present at conferences, seminars, and professional development workshops.

Qualifications & Experience:

Education:
MD/DNB in Pathology from a recognized university.

Experience:

• Minimum 2+ years of experience in a clinical laboratory setting.
• Expertise in histopathology, cytology, and clinical pathology is preferred.
• Experience in managing laboratory staff and operations is an added advantage.
• Certifications:
  ** NABL/CAP certifications and familiarity with regulatory frameworks are desirable.
