Piping Material Engineer

Experience:

Position Description:


Piping Material Engineer / Specialist is responsible for specifications for piping material of construction include pipe, valves, fittings, flanges, bolts/nuts, gaskets, branch conventions, fabrication criteria (PWHT), and installation criteria.


Responsibilities:


  • Calculating pipe wall thickness
  • Preparing or reviewing piping material specifications, valve material specifications, and specialty item datasheets
  • Preparing material requisitions for piping bulks, manual valves, and SP items
  • Performing technical bid evaluations and raising TQ s to vendors
  • Planning the assigned work and ensuring that engineering documents are in line with work procedures and checklists
  • Reviewing the client's technical documentation and requirements
  • Designing all piping components
  • Issuing project piping material specification and piping components data sheets


Requirements:


  • Fluid mechanics
  • A firm understanding of flow in open and closed systems
  • Effects of temperature
  • Viscosity
  • Pipe internal roughness
  • Communicating effectively with clients and meeting deadlines
  • Facilitating and orchestrating technical discussions with client, engineering disciplines, and vendors
