Position: Specialist - Procurement Location: Chennai Reporting to: Deputy Manager - Procurement

Job Summary:

Individual Contributor / Specialist role with following major accountabilities:

Procurement Operations – Tactical Procurement, Vendor Management, Order Processing, Contract Management; Inventory Management, MRP, Procure to Pay, Reporting, MIS etc. End to End Procurement Process in MM Module in SAP Working knowledge of Supply Chains & Basic understanding of Shipping & Logistics Proficiency with MS Office; especially MS XL and complex data analysis

Job Description:

Key Process Overview: The role would involve interactions with the External Vendors & Internal stakeholders of Olam International and BPS. As a Procurement Specialist, responsibilities include

Sourcing: For All Business Units

Support RFx Process: Own and lead the supplier interface for all RFI, RFP and RFQ services. Support both Domestic & Global Sourcing activities; Knowledge of e-tendering via Ariba Involve in Strategic Negotiations, Contract Management & RM Planning. Monitor & report on the performance of vendors to ensure contractual obligations & performance metrics are met [1]Compliance Reporting. Deliver Cost Savings, Cost Avoidance & other Value Delivery Programs YoY, consistently Vendor Management: For All Business Units Perform Benchmarking, Identification, Approvals, Onboarding, Auditing, Ongoing Operations – end to end Vendor Life Cycle Management (VLC) & Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) Support Vendor Relationship Managers (VRMs) on various supplier related activities e.g. Mandatory Trainings and escalate whenever needed; Ensuring Compliance etc. Supplier Evaluation, Rating & Monitoring: Lead measuring supplier performance, root cause analysis and driving improved performance. Own all aspects of supplier performance (cost, quality, delivery).

Operations: For All Business Units:

Assist with organizing management, operational, and ad hoc meetings. Service Level Agreement (SLA) performance: Continuously measure, manage and improve supplier actual performance against negotiated SLA. Continuous tracking, KPI reporting, via dashboards. On-time delivery: Measure, report and action to improve service and delivery performance. Ongoing cost productivity: Measure, report and action cost productivity as a function of market pricing.

Process Transition: For All Business Units

Knowledge Transfer- Train, induct and work closely with the OGBS incumbents at various levels to deliver the targets.

Strategic Sourcing: For Specific Business Units

Able to perform basic Spend Analysis, Fundamental Analysis, Procurement Analytics etc. Knowledge of 7 Steps of Sourcing and Category Management would be desirable Assist in Annual Budgeting Exercises and AOP’s. Support Risk Management Initiatives– BCP’s etc Shipping & Logistics: For Specific Business Units Working knowledge of Supply Chains – Planning/Logistics/Warehousing/Distribution Basic understanding of Shipping & Logistics: Letters of credit (At sight, Usance), BFC, CAD, TT[1]Payment Process; Imports/Exports Documentation (Sea & Air Freight); Shipment Tracking

Profile Description:

6-8 years of relevant experience in Procurement Operations, Strategic Sourcing, RM planning & Vendor Management, in Food & Agribusiness, FMCG and similar related Industries preferably Good exposure to Strategic Sourcing & Procurement Operations, Vendor Management Experience handling multiple stakeholders. Working knowledge of SAP (MM Module) Ability to be flexible with job duties and scope of work and Shifts.

Strong analytical background, attention to detail along with structured organization and planning skills. Demonstrate high analytical and problem-solving skills. Have Project management experience. Ability to work under pressure and to manage/deliver to deadlines; Ability to organize and prioritize workloads. Eager to learn, highly driven and very motivated with a can–do attitude. The ability to adapt and network across a global organization to work well with the team. Motivated and driven to succeed in a fast-moving environment. Demonstrates collaborative skills. Strong oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.

Must Have

Proficiency with MS Office; especially MS XL and complex data analysis Spend Data Analysis, Macro & Power BI

Education:

Graduation/Post Graduation in Any Discipline. Desirable to have specialization is Supply Chain Management/ General Business Studies/ Engineering/Food & Agribusiness & relevant Areas.
