Ruby on Rails Developer

This is a PERMANENT HOURLY PAID Part-time remote role Answering ALL the screening questions is important for considering your application * Interstride is an Edtech company serving higher-ed institutions in the U.S. We are currently working with the top U.S. institutions and growing rapidly. Our team is growing as well, and we need developers with deep technical expertise to join our back-end team and drive the development process. The ideal candidate will have some FE React JS experience as well. This role has the ability to grow quickly into a senior role within the company, depending on the experience, and management prowess. The team is global and fully remote. This role will also be remote and flexible. Technical Requirements: Minimum 5-7 years of back-end development experience in Ruby on Rails Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, or related field. Ability to write clean Ruby code. Proficiency with code versioning tools including Git and Github. Experience with ReactJS is a plus. Familiarity with MVC, Mocking, RESTful, and ORM. Good understanding of background jobs and SideKiq. Experience with AWS services such as RDS, EC2, S3 etc. Knowledge of SQL and database management is a plus Experience with AWS Other requirements You've worked closely with lean engineering teams, implemented agile processes (such as Scrum), and sought to continuously improve team efficiency You have successfully developed and deployed tech products You have demonstrated success leading teams, either internally or through third parties to deliver and launch products on time and on a scrappy budget Ability to think big and small to build incremental features and prototypes in service of a larger vision. You are willing and capable of expressing concerns and frustrations early, constructively, and proactively with solutions in mind. Technology savvy with deep experience with productivity tools such as: Jira, Asana, Hubspot, G-Suite, GA, etc. You enjoy learning and continuously evolving your skillset to keep up with the ever-changing tech and business landscape.
