Greetings from Kumaraguru College of Liberal Arts and Science (KCLAS). KCLAS was established in 2018 in Coimbatore under the umbrella of Kumaraguru Institutions, with a vision "to be a progressive, research focused institution that instills passion for life-long learning and molds young people to impact the world". We offer a range of Bachelors, Masters and Research Programs.

Key Responsibilities :

Academic Leadership : Lead the development and implementation of innovative undergraduate and graduate psychology programs aligned with the institution’s liberal arts mission. Ensure academic excellence by guiding curriculum development, assessment, and continuous improvement of teaching standards. Promote interdisciplinary collaboration between psychology and other departments.

Faculty Development : Provide mentorship and support for faculty in the areas of teaching, research, and professional development. Encourage faculty participation in research, publications, and conferences, promoting both individual and department-wide recognition.

Student Success : Foster a positive and engaging learning environment that supports students' academic and career development. Develop internship opportunities, research collaborations, and career paths for psychology students in partnership with industry and community organizations.

Strategic Planning : Lead the department in long-term strategic planning initiatives to enhance its reputation and expand its academic programs. Stay informed on trends and best practices in psychology and liberal arts education to ensure the department remains competitive and forward-thinking.

Research & Grants : Promote a culture of research and scholarship within the department. Identify opportunities for research funding and encourage faculty and students to pursue grants and external funding sources. Collaborate with other departments to develop interdisciplinary research projects.

Qualifications : Ph.D. in Psychology from an accredited institution. Significant leadership experience, at the departmental level. Proven ability to foster a collaborative and innovative academic environment. Strong understanding of interdisciplinary teaching and research, especially within a liberal arts context. Experience with accreditation processes and academic program evaluation is a plus. Excellent communication, organizational, and decision-making skills.
