Oroprise Solutions, a 10-year-old IT company ( www.Oroprise.Com ) is in the process of adding resource capacity to support its long-term client in Europe. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Cloud and Infrastructure Engineer with 8-10 years of expertise in Windows, VMware, Veeam Backup, and Citrix. The ideal candidate will possess advanced technical knowledge, excellent problem-solving skills, and a proactive approach to managing and supporting clients’ infrastructure as well as providing expert guidance and support to other team members. This role requires a strong commitment to providing exceptional service and support to our long-term client and ensuring the smooth operation of the IT systems.
Responsibilities
- Technical Support and Troubleshooting:
- Provide expert-level support for Windows operating systems, VMware environments, Veeam Backup solutions, and Citrix infrastructure.
- Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues, ensuring minimal disruption to end-users.
- Serve as an escalation point for junior engineers and assist in resolving advanced technical problems.
- Infrastructure Management:
- Oversee the deployment, configuration, and maintenance of Windows servers, VMware clusters, and Citrix environments.
- Manage and optimize Veeam Backup and replication processes to ensure data integrity and availability.
- Monitor system performance, identify potential issues, and implement solutions to improve reliability and efficiency.
- Project Management:
- Lead in IT projects of various types including system upgrades, migrations, and implementations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project delivery within scope, time
- Document project plans, technical procedures, and change management processes.
- Security and Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with organizational policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Implement and maintain security measures to protect IT infrastructure and sensitive data.
- Conduct regular audits and assessments to identify vulnerabilities and apply necessary updates and patches.
- Training and Mentorship:
- Provide training and mentorship to junior service desk engineers, fostering their professional growth.
- Develop and deliver training sessions on new technologies and best practices.
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for technical procedures and troubleshooting guides.
- Customer Service:
- Deliver exceptional customer service by effectively communicating with clients and stakeholders.
- Ensure timely resolution of support requests and maintain a high level of user satisfaction.
- Gather feedback from users to continuously improve service desk operations and processes.
- Expertise:
The candidate is expected to have advanced knowledge in the following areas:
o HPE servers and storage solutions
o VMWare/Hyper-V virtualization
o Veeam backup solution
o Firewall (Fortinet)
o HPE/Aruba networking (switches, access points,…)
o Microsoft Azure (IaaS, PaaS, AVD)
o Microsoft Windows Server (incl. AD, DNS, DHCP, DFS,…)
o Microsoft 365 – Defender - Intune
o Citrix XenApp/XenDesktop/PVS
Qualifications
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field preferred.
- Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE), VMware Certified Professional (VCP), Citrix Certified Professional (CCP), and Veeam Certified Engineer (VMCE) are highly desirable.
- Experience:
- Minimum 10 years of hands-on experience in IT service desk or technical support roles.
- Extensive experience with Windows Server and Desktop operating systems.
- Proven expertise in managing and troubleshooting VMware environments.
- In-depth knowledge of Veeam Backup and replication solutions.
- Strong experience with Citrix virtualization technologies.
