Role Summary

As an ‘Senior Engineer – Highway Drainage’, you'll have experience in the Highways Sector to join our ‘UK iCRC Roads’ team in Noida / Bengaluru. The successful candidate will have experience in leading the development and delivery of integral part of highways and highway drainage projects through various stages of the design process, from feasibility to planning/detailed design and onto construction.

Responsibilities

  • You will be working and supporting a range of highways schemes associated with highway drainage elements
  • You will be responsible for producing highway engineering designs and construction drawings independently for various UK schemes using the Design Manual for Roads and Bridges and other relevant standards.
  • You will be expected to play a proactive part in the design process and to be active on several projects at any given time.
  • The position will also involve internal client liaison, assisting in the preparation of fee proposals, recruitments, and financial control of projects when acting as a package manager.
  • You will coordinate inputs and outputs with other disciplines to produce an integrated design.
  • You will guide and mentor junior team members to broaden and deepen their understanding of a subject to suit with the client requirements.
  • You will be responsible for ensuring your projects are delivered to the budget, programme and technical standards and meet QA, CDM, Sustainability and HSE requirements.

Key Competencies / Skills:

Mandatory Skills

  • You should be able to demonstrate a good knowledge of and experience of UK highway drainage including knowledge on SUDS features.
  • Technical competency in Highway drainage, Storm water drainage as per UK standards
  • Preparation of Highway drainage methodologies and design basis statements
  • Preparation of Technical notes covering through Highway drainage specifications
  • Mentoring and technical support to CAD and engineers to develop general arrangement drawings, standard drawings
  • You will be able to use the relevant design software such as Civil 3D, Micro Drainage, CausewayFlow, NavisWorks, AutoCAD and ProjectWise.
  • Proficient in use of National Highways -UK common data environment like GeoStore, AVIS, HADDMS etc.
  • Lead and attend design review meetings and progress meetings with Clients
  • Proficient in use of standard MS Office software
  • Confidence to seek clarification of instructions and work scope
  • Able to liaise as necessary with the UK project team to deliver the schemes/projects
  • You will be quick to pick up new ideas and skills, and be able to think laterally to generate new solutions to problems.
  • Good written and verbal communication skillsPreparation of Development Drainage Strategies
  • Proven track record of dealing with Clients and forging effective relationships in a professional and customer-focused manor.

Desired Skills

  • Project Management and financial track with projects

Qualifications and Experience

  • B.Tech. in Civil Engineering or equivalent with good length of relevant experience.
  • M.Tech in Hydrualics & Water Resources Engineering or equivalent will be given preference.
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in Highway drainage and Storm water draianage
