Job is part time for 3 - 6 months and possible conversion of to FTE Key Responsibilities: Architecture & Design: Design and architect scalable, reliable, and secure cloud infrastructure on GCP for web and mobile applications. Develop architecture blueprints and detailed documentation for the design and implementation of cloud solutions. Collaborate with development teams to ensure that the infrastructure meets both current and future business requirements. DevOps Implementation: Implement CI/CD pipelines for web and mobile applications using GCP services and DevOps best practices. Automate cloud infrastructure provisioning using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or Google Cloud Deployment Manager. Develop and maintain automated deployment scripts, configurations, and monitoring systems. Cloud Management: Optimize cloud resources for cost, performance, and reliability across GCP services such as Compute Engine, Kubernetes Engine, App Engine, Cloud Functions, and Firebase. Monitor and manage cloud environments, ensuring high availability and disaster recovery capabilities. Implement and manage security practices, including identity management, data protection, and compliance with industry standards. Collaboration & Communication: Work closely with development, operations, and security teams to integrate DevOps processes into the development lifecycle. Provide technical guidance and mentoring to team members on cloud and DevOps best practices. Communicate complex technical solutions to non-technical stakeholders in a clear and concise manner. Continuous Improvement: Identify areas for process improvement and implement solutions to enhance the development, deployment, and management of cloud infrastructure. Stay up-to-date with the latest GCP services, DevOps tools, and industry trends to continuously improve the architecture and processes. Qualifications: Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; or equivalent experience. 5+ years of experience in cloud architecture, with at least 3 years focused on GCP. Proven experience in architecting, implementing, and managing DevOps pipelines for web and mobile applications. Technical Skills: Expert knowledge of GCP services, including Compute Engine, Kubernetes Engine, App Engine, Cloud Functions, Cloud Storage, Pub/Sub, and BigQuery. Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, Google Cloud Deployment Manager, or Ansible. Strong experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, CircleCI, or Google Cloud Build. Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies like Docker and Kubernetes. Solid understanding of networking, security, and identity management in cloud environments. Proficient in scripting and automation using Python, Bash, or similar languages. Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools such as Google Cloud Operations Suite (formerly Stackdriver), Prometheus, and Grafana. Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically and creatively. Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across different teams. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Strong commitment to continuous learning and improvement. Preferred Qualifications: Google Cloud Professional Architect or DevOps Engineer certification. Experience with Firebase for mobile application development and backend services. Knowledge of other cloud platforms like AWS or Azure. Experience in a highly regulated industry (e.g., finance, healthcare) with strict compliance requirements.
