Job Title: Senior Manager, Asia Electronics Working location: Preferred location: Chennai/Pune/Bangalore/Mumbai, either location will be ok.If candidate’s profile is good, Delhi NCR also can be considered.Job Description:The Role: Reporting to the Head of Products, the role will be to own both new product introduction and drive product marketing initiatives focused on the Electronics industry in Asia. This will include understanding the growth drivers, customer requirements and use that to bring clarity around product strategy and execution. The role comes with interacting with senior leaders of Cognex’ field engineering team (> 500 people) who will look to this candidate for guidance and direction.The candidate will engage with leaders of Cognex Sales teams located in USA, China, India and Vietnam to ensure that our large and existing current business and install base remains growing and profitable while also engaging in defining forward-looking and longer-range plans that adapt our Electronics business and products to ongoing and observed trends in the market.The candidate will also engage with Cognex R&D, Product and Operations teams located in our HQ in Natick, MA to understand and collaborate on Asia specific initiatives – both product related and business/ operations strategies.Essential Functions:Perform insightful market, application and competitive analysis, combined with technology and commercial innovation, to generate thoughtful strategy for business growth.Drive the profitable growth of existing business at key large accounts in China, India, South-East AsiaDevelop and execute plans to win share in higher-growth segments both regionally and within key end-markets.Set and manage pricing to maximize total solution gross margin and gross profit.Build solid engagement, followership and credibility with Sales and Field Engineering to bring alignment and clarity to Cognex future direction in the Asia region.Coach junior product marketing specialists on how to think about, talk about and market our products within Asia Electronics effectively.Skills, Abilities and Experience: Background in product marketing and/or business development in an Industrial/ manufacturing business.5-7 years of experience in application of technology into industrial capital equipment industry. (preferably Electronics industry).5-7 years of experience working/interacting with sales or distributors in the selling, support or service of industrial products preferably in the automation space.Experience in operationalizing and driving large technical projects in a factory setting will be a plus though not required.Strong verbal and written communications, including the ability to create and deliver persuasive presentationsAbility to rapidly learn new technical concepts.Able to travel at least 30% including travel to China, Vietnam, USA, KoreaAbility to speak Asian languages (Hindi, Chinese, Korean, Japanese) in addition to English fluency is a plus.Minimum education:Engineering degree (Electrical, Mechanical or Computer Science) is required, advanced degree (like MBA) strongly preferred.
