Job Description: The Deputy Procurement Manager will play a crucial role in supporting the origin procurement function within the procurement team. This individual will assist in managing the procurement process, streamlining the charges and tariffs, negotiating with vendors, and ensuring the timely receipt of rate sheets and proposing cost-effective solutions to sales and account management. The Deputy Procurement Manager will work closely with the Procurement Manager and other departments to optimize procurement strategies and contribute to the overall efficiency of our supply chain operations.

Responsibilities: Vendor Management: Identify, assess and negotiate the rates with the Vendors to ensure competitive pricing and quality service Need strong understanding of Incoterms, charges, tariffs and customs clearance procedures pertaining to Indian Sub continent, East Asia and Europe Maintain strong relationships with existing Vendors and manage performance through regular reviews and metrics Procurement Strategy: The ideal candidate should be adept at interpreting client requests and proposing solutions that align with current rates and market conditions. Should ensure the accuracy and integrity of data in Excel rate sheets and the app by promptly updating and relaying the latest information received from vendors Conduct market research and analysis to understand industry trends, competitive landscapes, and customer needs to adjust pricing strategies accordingly Collaborate with sales, marketing, and operations teams to align pricing strategies with business objectives and customer requirements Reporting and Analysis: Prepare regular reports and presentations on procurement activities, cost savings, and supplier performance Utilize data analytics and reporting tools to drive informed decision-making and process improvements Recommend/Suggest routing options for given port pairs or destination ports to enhance quoting and improve win ratio - retroactive/active solution design

You Should Apply if You: Minimum of 4 years’ transportation / logistics experience, with a focus on Ocean and Air procurement is a MUST Sound knowledge on import/export regulations and policies is a MUST Experience with transportation management systems is considered an asset Should have sound knowledge of google sheets or Microsoft excel with an ability to write formulas Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders Dedicated to continuous improvement Proven analytical and problem solving skills. Ability to quickly understand and identify issues and propose solutions Proven ability to effectively prioritize workflow to ensure deadlines are met in a fast-paced environment Takes initiative, is proactive in their work, and results-oriented Ability to manage and adapt to change
