Purpose of the Position :

  • Strengthen Evonik’s brand awareness and visibility in India as a leading specialty chemical, socially responsible company with key stakeholders, which include employees, customers, media, NGO/CSR and other external partners.
  • Accountable for building India specific communication strategy and content;
    planning and managing the communication activities using various channels and platforms, ensuring compliance to corporate brand guidelines and communication policies.


Key Responsibilities:

The role holder is responsible for key internal and external activities, including but not limited to the below:

  • Build communication strategy and program that positions Evonik India externally and within Evonik;
    and ensure professionalexecution of the program.
  • Advise management and other employees on all aspects of communication. Manage corporate events, content and all relevant communications channels in India.
  • Ensure compliance with brand identity and brand guidelines of Evonik.
  • Manage contractor, agencies and suppliers within the approved communications budget to deliver high quality services.


Internal:

  • Plan and implement internal communication campaigns/initiatives, cascade group messages, support the rollout of policies and regulations to employees.
  • Manage internal communication channels, including local Intranet, townhall meetings, and all other communication related areas of support.
  • Support employer branding activities for Evonik India and other areas of HR-led communication, where necessary.


External:

  • Develop and implement effective external communication programs. Build relationships with key stakeholders, including customers, media, and business associates.
  • Develop, maintain and update local communication platforms including internet and other communication collateral. Manage contractor, agencies and suppliers within the approved communications budget to deliver high quality services.
  • Formulate and execute a social media strategy, (that fit the Indian audience), across multiple channels to amplify the Evonik India Brand.
  • Deliver professional market communication services to the business lines in India, including tradeshows, conferences, events, marketing campaigns on digital platforms.
  • Provide communication expertise in emergency and crisis management;
    ensure proper function of the crisis communication procedure in India.

CSR Activities:

  • As a key member of the CSR organizational committee, organize and support communication related aspects of Evonik India’s CSR and community engagement activities.
  • Act as Sponsorship Officer to coordinate sponsorship activities in India and ensure compliance to Evonik’s sponsorship policy.


Education, Certification and/or relevant experience required

  • University degree with a major in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or other related subjects. Minimum 8 years’ working experience in the B2B industries, preferably in the chemical industry.


Additional skills and abilities required for this position

  • Strong ability in strategy development, project management, conceptual and creative thinking, as well as content development.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with senior executives.


Technical Knowledge (E.G. specialized knowledge required to perform all the required tasks)

  • In-depth and up-to-date knowledge of communications trends, platforms and tools in India, including understanding of changing trends in digital and social media.
