Iris software is seeking a highly experienced and versatile Life & Annuities (L&A) Insurance Domain SME to be the architect and champion of L&A IT solutions that bridge the gap between business needs and technology possibilities. SME will play a critical role in understanding insurance client requirements, translating them into actionable technical specifications, and ensuring our offerings perfectly align with industry best practices. His / Her passion for knowledge sharing and training will empower our technology resources to build solutions that truly transform the L&A landscape. Key Responsibilities: Domain Mastery & Solution Architecture: Possess deep expertise in L&A products, processes, regulations, and emerging trends. Stay current on cutting-edge technologies like cloud computing, AI, analytics, blockchain, and their application in L&A. Analyze insurance client requirements and translate them into clear and precise functional and technical specifications. Collaborate with IT teams to design and architect L&A-specific solutions based on latest technologies and industry best practices. Match client needs with existing solutions or advocate for development of new solutions to address market gaps. Knowledge Management & Training: Develop and implement a comprehensive knowledge management system for L&A business topics and our IT solutions. Create and curate high-quality content (documents, videos, tutorials) relevant to L&A processes, technology integration, and solution usage. Design and deliver impactful training programs for IT resources on L&A fundamentals, solution functionality, and specific client implementation needs. Coach and mentor IT professionals to gain fluency in the language insurance, enhance project delivery, and build strong client relationships. Foster open communication between business and technology stakeholders to ensure successful solution implementation. Effectively communicate complex L&A concepts and technical solutions to diverse audiences (clients, internal teams, stakeholders). Represent the company at industry events and conferences to showcase expertise and build relationships. Additional Responsibilities: Conduct research and analysis on L&A technology trends and competitive landscapes. Contribute to the development of L&A-focused documentation and marketing materials. Stay active in the L&A community and network with industry professionals. Mandatory Skills: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (insurance, business, computer science, etc.) or equivalent experience. 15-20 years of experience in the L&A insurance industry or a relevant technology field. Proven track record of successfully translating business requirements into technical solutions and exploring insurance use cases for various technologies. Demonstrated experience in creating and delivering impactful training programs. Strong understanding of knowledge management principles and best practices. Familiarity with specific L&A technology platforms and solutions for core Insurance Very good knowledge of, and experience working with, Insurance Industry Analysts and TPAs such as Celent, Novarica, etc. Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Passion for knowledge sharing and a genuine desire to educate others. Nice-to-Have Skills: Very good contacts / rolodex of Execs (particularly from the C-Suite), across L & A Business and IT Experience working for IT Services Providers Understanding of Agile development methodologies. Industry standard certifications in Insurance like LOMA. Skills in developing e-learning materials and interactive training tools. Project management experience and familiarity with training platforms. Sound knowledge of intermediaries, reinsurance operations, internal and external reporting, dashboards, and basic accounting principles. Technology Skills: Proficiency in core office productivity tools (Microsoft Suite, Google Suite). Experience with online collaboration platforms (e.g., SharePoint, Microsoft Teams). Basic understanding of web development concepts and content management systems. Familiarity with office productivity software (e.g.: MS-Office suite).
