Summary:
The Store Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the store, ensuring a high level of customer service, achieving sales targets, and maintaining store standards. This role involves leading a team of associates, managing inventory, and implementing strategies to drive store performance and profitability.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Leadership & Team Management:
- Recruit, train, and supervise store staff.
- Schedule shifts and assign tasks to employees.
- Provide ongoing feedback and performance evaluations.
- Foster a positive and productive work environment.
2. Customer Service:
- Ensure exceptional customer service and resolve customer complaints effectively.
- Train staff on customer service standards and techniques.
- Monitor and assess customer satisfaction levels.
3. Sales & Marketing:
- Develop and implement strategies to meet and exceed sales goals.
- Analyze sales reports and trends to identify opportunities for growth.
- Plan and execute promotional activities and in-store events.
4. Inventory Management:
- Oversee inventory control, including ordering, stocking, and managing stock levels.
- Conduct regular inventory audits and manage stock shrinkage.
- Coordinate with suppliers and manage product returns and exchanges.
5. Store Operations:
- Ensure the store is clean, organised, and well-maintained.
- Implement and adhere to company policies and procedures.
- Manage cash handling, including deposits and reconciliations.
6. Financial Management:
- Monitor and manage store budgets and expenses.
- Analyse financial performance and develop action plans to address any discrepancies.
- Report on key performance indicators (KPIs) to upper management.
7. Compliance & Safety:
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and address any hazards.
- Maintain security procedures and protocols to prevent loss and theft.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent;
bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Retail Management, or a related field preferred.
- 2 to 3 years of experience in retail management or a similar role.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and retail management software.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
