Technical Writer, Software Product Documentation

What will you do :

We are seeking a Technical Writer to join our global Documentation Team based in Baner, Pune . In this role, you will be responsible for developing, writing, and maintaining user documentation, including online help, user guides, and application tutorials. You will collaborate with developers, QA teams, and other staff to create clear, concise, and accurate documentation that enhances the user experience. Training on SolidCAM software and its CAD integrations will be provided.

Your responsibilities :

• Develop and maintain high-quality technical documentation (online help, user guides, training materials, etc.).
• Collaborate with subject matter experts to gather information and translate technical details into comprehensive content.
• Continuously improve existing documentation with new SolidCAM software versions.
• Use Adobe products (incl., RoboHelp and InDesign) to author and manage documentation.
• Create images and illustrations with Photoshop and Illustrator.
• Edit and proofread technical content for accuracy and clarity.
• Manage documentation using content management and version control systems.
• Deliver user-centric and customer-focused documents.
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring high-quality deliverables.

Qualifications you will bring :

• Degree or certification in Technical Writing, English, Communications, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 2 to 4 years of work experience as a Technical Writer.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to produce clear, concise, and accurate documentation.
• Proficiency with MS Office and Adobe products (Acrobat, etc.).
• Knowledge of HTML, CSS, and other web technologies.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Motivation, dedication, and strong problem-solving abilities.
• Willingness to stay current with industry trends and best practices in technical writing.
• Eagerness to learn new technologies/applications.

Preferred Qualifications :

• Basic understanding of software development.
• Technical writing experience related to design and manufacturing.
• Experience with 3D CAD design software (e.G., SOLIDWORKS, Solid Edge, Inventor, NX, etc.).
• Experience with CMS and version control systems (e.G., Git integrated with RoboHelp and Atlassian Bitbucket).
• Familiarity with Atlassian Jira for bug tracking, issue tracking, feature development, and agile project management.
• Knowledge of MadCap Flare or similar help authoring solutions.
• Knowledge of WordPress and FTP solutions.
• Familiarity with knowledgebase systems.
