Role Description:
Tekla Expert (Freelancer/Part-Time)
This is a part-time, hybrid role for a Tekla Expert , offering flexibility for remote work. The role involves collaborating with engineers, architects, and project managers to deliver high-quality structural steel models and drawings. Key responsibilities include:
- Creating detailed structural steel models using Tekla Structures software.
- Generating fabrication drawings and material lists from the models.
- Ensuring accuracy and completeness of designs by collaborating with cross-functional teams.
- Applying industry standards (IS-800, IS-802) and best practices to ensure quality and efficiency.
- Communicating effectively with teams and clients to ensure project success.
- Reviewing project specifications to ensure compliance.
- Participating in design and construction meetings as needed.
- Continuously updating skills in Tekla Structures software and staying informed about industry trends.
- Developing complete structure models and drawings according to client specifications.
- Creating GA drawings, BOM, BOQ, and As-built drawings in line with design standards.
- Performing drawing checks and coordinating production.
- Utilizing automation programs, lisp, and macros to enhance productivity.
- Reporting to the Team Lead and taking ownership of assigned tasks.
Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of experience working with Tekla Structures software.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting architectural and engineering drawings.
- Experience in generating detailed shop and fabrication drawings for steel structures.
- Familiarity with industry standards and codes related to steel detailing (e.G., IS-800, IS-802, and American standards).
- Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with engineers and architects.
- Keen attention to detail with the ability to identify and resolve design issues.
- Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple projects.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD, BIM, and 3D modeling software is a plus.
Location & Working Principles:
This is a hybrid role with the possibility of remote work. Site visits may be required (costs covered by the company). Candidates are expected to work 3-4 hours per day , depending on project requirements.
Payments:
Payments will be calculated on an hourly basis , and invoices will be settled on a monthly or 30-day rotation . The hourly rate will be negotiated with candidates during the hiring process.
