Torpa Rural Development Society for Women [TRDSW] Fellowship ProgramStart Date: 1st October, 2024Duration: 24 months (extendable based on performance)Application Form Link: https://forms.Gle/JyTzWA7xnVssBfA96Application deadline: 24th September, 2024Location: Torpa and Rania blocks, Khunti district, JharkhandAbout TRDSWTorpa Rural Development Society for Society [TRDSW] was established in 1995 with a focused mission to empower the tribal communities of Jharkhand through sustainable development initiatives. Over the years, TRDSW has grown into a leading organization in the region, dedicated to improving the socio-economic conditions of these communities through education, healthcare, and livelihood programs. TRDSW has reached out to 4,000 farmers, created 400 SHGs and brought education to over 28,000 children in The Torpa and Rania blocks of the Khunti district. The organisation has also opened a showroom to exhibit lac and bamboo handicrafts and other local products made by the tribal community TRDSW’s approach combines grassroots engagement with innovative solutions to tackle the complex challenges faced by tribal populations. Our projects have ranged from improving agricultural practices and water conservation to providing educational programs and healthcare services. Through our work, we strive to foster a self-reliant and resilient tribal society where individuals have the skills, resources, and opportunities to lead fulfilling lives.Our vision extends beyond immediate relief to long-term development, aiming to build capacity within the community, promote gender equality, and ensure sustainable use of natural resources. TRDSW’s work has been recognized for its impact and innovation, becoming a model for community development in tribal areas.Key ResponsibilitiesProgram Implementation: Support TRDSW’s ongoing projects, including climate-smart agriculture, millet revival, beekeeping, and educational interventions.Community Engagement: Work with tribal communities to understand their challenges, implement solutions, and provide ongoing support for capacity-building initiatives.Data Collection & Reporting: Assist in gathering data, monitoring program outcomes, and contributing to impact evaluation reports.Capacity Building: Help build the capacity of farmer institutions by organizing training workshops, knowledge-building sessions, and providing hands-on technical support.Market Linkage Support: Assist in creating market linkages for products from TRDSW’s livelihood initiatives, ensuring that tribal women and farmers access better market opportunities.Innovation & Entrepreneurship: Encourage innovation within the community by identifying new opportunities in the areas of agri-business, value addition, and income diversification.Collaborative Partnerships: Help foster collaborations with local organizations, government bodies, and other stakeholders to expand TRDSW’s impact.Qualifications and SkillsBachelor’s degree in social sciences, agriculture, development studies, or a related field [master’s degree preferred].Strong passion for working in rural and tribal communities.Knowledge and understanding of issues related to rural development, climate-smart agriculture, and women’s empowerment.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.Experience in data collection, analysis, and report writing.Ability to live and work in rural areas with minimal infrastructure.Fluency in English and Hindi;
